Pablo Sandoval: “Kung-Fu Panda”

October 16, 2010 1 comment

Pablo Sandoval is a baseball player for the San Francisco Giants who has quite an apt nickname of “Kung-Fu Panda” (or “Pandoval”).  He got this nickname for being a speedy husky athlete.  Tonight is the National League Playoffs between the Giants and the Philadelphia Phillies.  Unfortunately, Pablo is benched for tonight’s game and I’m not sure if he’s playing through the rest of the playoffs.

Here’s an adorable video of Pablo being interviewed by FOX’s Chris Rose:

Okay, I just could not resist posting this...

Okay, before you guys and gals get mad at me for posting that animated gif, I just have this ridiculous fascination with people tripping.  Karma has rained down her vengeance upon me because I now have weak legs.  Serves me right, I suppose.  Still, I can’t stop laughing at the cuteness of the Kung-Fu Panda tripping — plus, seeing his thick body in full-speed action before the fall is worth the price of admission…  😛

Pablo Sandoval bear hugs Andres Torres... DAAAWWWW!

But, seriously, here are more photos of the handsome Pablo Sandoval…

And, finally, I really have no other thoughts about these final two photos…  😛

And, after all that, I must inject some personal opinion to end this: GO PHILLIES! (and I’m a Yankees fan)…  😉

New York Yankees: 2009 World Series Champions

Jose Molina and CC Sabathia

Yes, it’s unfair.  The Yankees is basically similar to an unfairly stacked virtual sports team in a videogame with added cheat codes.  But, hey, didn’t Seven Of Nine once said: “Cheating is often more efficient.”  😉

Either way, last night made me a little happy as I am an unapologetic Yankees fan.  It made me forget about what happened in Maine.  Imagine the world as the Yankees Stadium.  Everyone except for 100 people in that stadium is a Phillies fan.  As an owner of that stadium, will you allow the Yankees fans have a say by asking them to make this vote: “Can only Yankees fan be in the stadium?”  Having a majority vote on the rights of a minority is just morally and ethically wrong.  Unfortunately, someone forgot to send that TPS Report to Mr. U.S. Constitution.

Anyway, with that out of my system, here are just a  handful of my favorite bearish Yankees…

Joba Chamberlain

That passion and the intensity that is Joba...

Thank Grizzly It’s Friday Weekly Wrap-Up

January 9, 2009 4 comments

Every Friday, I will provide a weekly wrap-up then post a screenshot from a movie and I would like for you guys and gals to guess who the actor is and what movie it is from…  Just post your answers in the comments section. The answers will be posted the following Friday.

thankgrizzlyitsfriday-2009-01-09Here’s a “twofur”…  Who are the two woofy bearish fellas
on the left and the right?

I was gone for a bit due to my being at CES.  Part of my plans were to take photos of the beefy trifecta of David Ortiz, Prince Fielder, and Joba Chamberlain at the Sharp booth.  Unfortunately, I missed out on all three photo opportunities!  Anyway here are some photos I am leeching from others who were lucky enough to have seen these 3 woofy baseball players…  Man, Sharp really knew how to pick their husky athletes to promote their LCDs…

Um…  Woof!

Man, I totally missed out on seeing a bearded Joba!

prince-fielder-ces-01Did Prince just autograph the man’s ball?…

Blast beating drummer, Nicholas Barker, got shirtless for us while drumming with melodic death metal band, Dimmu Borgir.

A musclebear version of Wolverine was brought to life by the massive strongman Brad Dunn.

Your author reminisced about educational tv shows and waxed philosophical about the benefits of bearish/chubby teachers.

A handsome chubby bear pro-wrestler was reinvented as a dancing and fighting tattooed gorilla: Shawn Murphy as King Kong Fu.

More King Kong Fu madness and with a special focus on a particular body region.

Two Woofy Tuesday pits two balding, bearded, husky/chubby, and oftentimes shirtless or even semi-nude hard-rocking musicians: Damian Abraham Vs. Max Flövik.

BassBoom of Real Thick Yahoo Group uploaded a video montage of a massive Warden Brute.

As for the answers from last week’s TGIF:WWU…

The very genial looking chubby bear is John DiResta from Miss Congeniality (hellfried gets the win!).  Mr. Diresta is more husky than chubby nowadays.  This is him from his MySpace page

I’m pretty saddened, but damn, the tanktop, exposed furry arms, and thick biceps sure make up for it though.  Plus, we get a peek at that belly — or whatever’s left of it (lol).  Anyway, let’s look back at the once chubby John DiResta…

Joe Blanton: Phillies’ Game 4 Winner

October 27, 2008 4 comments

The last time I posted about Joe Blanton this season, he was with the Oakland A’s.  Yesterday, he pitched in the World Series for the Philadelphia Phillies against the Tampa Bay Rays.  The result?  A Phillies win of 10-2 with Mr. Blanton hitting a solo home run in the fifth.  The Phillies now have a 3-1 lead.  Will they end the disappointing march of the Rays?  Or will the Rays persevere and tie the series?  We’ll find out on Tuesday…

(higher quality version)

In the history of baseball, Joe Blanton is the 15th pitcher to ever hit a home run in a World Series.  Ken Holtzman (who was with the Oakland A’s) was the previous pitcher which dates all the way back to 1974!  Way to go, Joe!

C.C. Sabathia Traded To The Brewers… WOW!

I’m not sure if the Brew Crew can afford both Ben Sheets and C.C. Sabathia for next season, but this is an awesome trade and news — for now.  The Indians are moderately sucking (yes, I’m a nice guy) this season, and they definitely needed some changes.  Anyway, the Brewers have made a great decision with C.C.

Not to make this a race-related comment (actually, it’s more of a bearish-men-related comment, so all youse skinny folk go ahead and sue me for discrimination or something, lol), but I’m excited to see both C.C. Sabathia and Prince Fielder in the same team…  And just in case you had memory loss on just who Prince Fielder is…

This is definitely one of the biggest trades of the season and I can’t wait to see what the Brew Crew’s gonna do for the rest of the season.

I also just want to add this video clip (just the first 2 minutes) of a handsome sports guy (Court Ziegler) talking about the trade.  Just ignore his factual error with referring to Ben Sheets as Tampa Bay Rays’ James Shields.  Who cares, really, when you are just awesomely cute as this gorgeous chubby sports fan.

Definitely check out his YouTube Page: WoNumber1Fan.

Sidney Ponson: Yankees Starter

Whoa.  Sidney Ponson’s starting tonight in Game 2 of a doubleheader against the Mets.  And who is he starting for?  That’s right.  The New York Yankees.  Hells, yeah.  Another hottie pitcher for my team.  Unfortunately, Mr. Ponson has slimmed down a bit and had grown that dreaded mullet.  He is definitely way woofier with a shaven head.  Anyway, you guys can decide for yourself if my mullet-hating ways is justified.

Mr. Ponson, yes, that’s a good pose right there…

…And, yes, turn around for the camera.  Good job!

You see?  Perfection.  Isn’t it?  Now, look at the new look:

Mr. Ponson, I think you broke my camera with your 100 mph mullet.

Oh, yeah.  Sweat and nipplage action.  😉

Call me strange, but I tend to get excited when a pitcher starts to sweat profusely, especially when he’s about to blow lose a game.  Something about his “defeated” expressions that seem to border on my bondage fetish of sorts.  Here’s Sidney, sweating it up.  Good news for me, bad news for the Orioles fans.

Finally here are some artifacts of the chubbier Sidney Ponson…

Joba Chamberlain & Brian Leckner: Attacked By Bugs!

June 25, 2008 3 comments

One of the reasons why Joba caught my fancy was the fact that he resembles a tall and beefy bear that I’ve been stalking following through the years: Brian Leckner.

You can currently find him as the “losing” contestant in that Round-Up commercial as he’s using an old-fashioned weed-killing pump instead of the easy-to-use Round-Up weed killer spray.*  (If anybody could find that commercial, that would be cool.)

* Round-Up, make sure to send the check to..

Here’s a collage of him in the film, Mimic 2.  He played a stalking (how’s that for irony) ex-boyfriend who later becomes a victim of the titular mutated insects.  It’s not really a spoiler because this collage is basically the only screen time he has in the film.

And to stick with the theme of pesticides and insecticides…

Joba Chamberlain was also a victim of a swarm of insects during Game 2 of the AL Divisional Series at Jacobs Field on October 5, 2007 in Cleveland, Ohio.  Upon closer look, these insects appear to be the Chironomus plumosus.  And upon even closer look, these Chironomus plumosus were led by a…

Seriously though, check out this article about that famous/weirdest moment in baseball.  Specifically, this erotically-charged paragraph (and the emphasis is all mine):

And for some strange reason they feasted on Chamberlain, the beefy right-hander who helplessly stood on the rubber struggling to see Posada’s target as the tiny pests buzzed around his head. As some of them stuck to his muscular, sweaty neck and back, Chamberlain came unhinged.

From: ABC News – Bugs Bite Into Yankees Postseason

Damn.  How hot was that?!

Who knew that these Sports Writers are also passionate BearFic writers?  😉

And, finally, here’s a video of Joba talking about his experience about the Cleveland Bugs…
